Giselle: A Timeless Tale of Love and Redemption

Why We Recommend it
Experience the emotional depth and beauty of Giselle, a timeless romantic ballet brought to life by South African artist Charla Genn and Hong Kong Ballet artistic director Septime Webre.
Description
Hong Kong Ballet’s production of Giselle revives one of the most romantic ballets of all time, telling a poignant story of a peasant girl who falls for Albrecht, a nobleman disguised as a commoner. This tender love story turns tragic with betrayal, leading to Giselle’s heartbreak and death. The mystical second act, known as the ballet blanc, features ghostly maidens summoned to take revenge in the night by dancing men to death by exhaustion.
Directed by South African artist Charla Genn and Hong Kong Ballet artistic director Septime Webre, this production dazzles with new sets and costumes by Benois de la Danse (a prominent ballet competition held annually in Moscow) winner Jérôme Kaplan, alongside an ethereal score that enchants audiences. With international guest stars and Hong Kong Ballet’s finest, Giselle promises an unforgettable journey into love and forgiveness.
