Go Yayanagi: Art is the New Encounter

Why We Recommend it
The globetrotting Japanese artist Go Yayanagi enjoys his first solo exhibit in Hong Kong, where 20 works dating from the 1970s to the present day will be on show.
Description
Yayanagi reconstructs everyday lives and creates works that are both vibrant and unusual. For him, encountering new environments means opening new doors for his creativity.
After dropping out from the university in 1953, the Japanese artist traveled to Brazil and lived in Sao Paulo. This encounter with a new place, culture, and the vibrant beauty of the tropical rainforest inspired the artist who started to adopt more vivid colors into his paintings and explore environmentalism in art.
Today, Yayanagi remains as enthusiastic as ever about exploring new worlds and ideas, and his vivid works celebrate the act of broadening horizons and encountering new places and people.
