As the first Chinese designer to join the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Guo Pei has presented ten showcase collections in Paris and now returns with a couture solo show in Hong Kong at Centrestage Elites.
Under the theme “Gilternity: An Everlasting Radiance,” Guo draws inspiration from molten gold, symbolising love, to unveil 30 exquisite couture pieces. Each piece is fully handcrafted, fusing traditional techniques like intricate embroidery with boldly expressive three-dimensional designs and modern art.
A highlight of the show is Guo’s collaboration with students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the opening piece, adding a local touch while symbolising a combination of tradition and innovation. Additionally, the renowned designer will host a masterclass on 4 September, sharing insights into her creative journey and design philosophy.
The annual gala for the Asian fashion industry celebrates its 10th anniversary edition, starting with the grand opening event of Centrestage Elites. Taking place from 1 to 6 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event will showcase 260 brands from 24 countries and regions.
