Description
Themed around the city’s long-standing traditional shops, HART Haus’ Time in Perspective introduces contemporary artworks by Boon Lee and Wenda Yiu. Through conversations with local shopkeepers, the duo transforms vanishing narratives into art, showcasing the past and future of these establishments.
Lee draws inspiration from the paradox of memory, reflecting on how the distant past often feels more vivid than the present. His artworks, crafted from various materials, such as discarded cardboard to embody both resilience and transience. Meanwhile, Yiu’s contemporary ink and mixed-media works explore streets alive with memory, where each small shop or tea house shares stories of community and identity.
An opening ceremony for Time in Perspective will be held on 11 October from 14:00 to 18:00 at HART Haus.
