Safari: A Journey Through Change and Creativity

Why We Recommend it

Hong Kong Art School’s graduate exhibition Safari is a journey to observe wild animals while also exploring human transformation and enlightenment.

Description

Safari is an artistic journey symbolising transformation and enlightenment through the observation of wild animals, inviting audiences to explore the diverse and interconnected nature of human souls. Its Chinese title 化 (faa3, “transformation”) depicts two figures — one upright and one inverted — representing the evolution of customs and the creation of all beings.

Over their two years of study, Hong Kong Art School’s fine art graduates shifted their mindsets, embracing change to face challenges and grow. Alongside the graduate exhibition held at Hong Kong Arts Centre, there are also satellite sites that document the research and experiments behind the exhibited works, offering deeper insight into the creative process.

Safari will be held from 19–30 July at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, with satellite exhibitions  at the school’s Chai Wan and Shau Kei Wan campuses.
