Why We Recommend it

The 35th Hong Kong Book Fair spotlights this year’s theme, “Food Culture – Future Living,” with over 620 events exploring culinary traditions, healthy lifestyles and future trends.

Description

The 35th Hong Kong Book Fair, themed “Food Culture – Future Living,” features over 620 events exploring culinary traditions, sustainability and future lifestyles. The Renowned Writers Seminar Series showcases influential Chinese-language authors like Lung Ying-tai and Xu Ze-chen, while the English and International Reading Seminar Series presents prominent writers such as Rie Qudan and Korean sci-fi author Kim Bo-young. The fair also welcomes notable figures from business, science and the arts — including Olympic fencing gold medallist Vivian Kong, Michelin-starred chef Vicky Lau and actress Grace Chan.

As part of the World of Art & Culture theme promoting international cultural exchange, the interactive exhibition Book a Table – Food for Thought features eight artist-curated tables, each exploring themes like food, healthy living, culture and lifestyle. The experience is enhanced by an onsite AI device recommending books, along with workshops led by culinary experts on cuisine, diets and farming.

Complementing the book fair, Cultural July runs from now until 31 July, offering nearly 400 diverse cultural activities across all 18 districts of Hong Kong. This includes food and culture tours, author sharing sessions, parent-child reading, handicraft workshops and many more — designed to foster a city-wide love of reading and cultural engagement.
