Now in its 17th edition, the Literary Festival has a track record of bringing in big names in the fiction, non-fiction and verse worlds while also dedicating itself to promoting rising talent.

This year’s event boasts a strong set list of inspiring writers, including Wild Swans-writer Jung Chan and Amy Tan, who wrote the Joy Luck Club. Spread over a series of nine days, the event caters to a range of literary tastes, including Science fiction. poetry and crime.

Local writers, among them Xu Xi, who wrote “Dear Hong Kong” in the recently released Penguin series, and contributors in the recently published anthology “PEN: Hong Kong 20:20” will also give readings.

Tickets go on sale on the 15th September, and tend to sell out quite quickly.
