Hong Kong International Photo Festival 2020

Why We Recommend it

The Hong Kong International Photo Festival 2020 brings photography exhibitions and events to neighbourhoods across Hong Kong from April to June.

Description

The Hong Kong International Photo Festival (HKIPF) kicks off this year’s edition with more than 30 Hong Kong photographers who have committed themselves to deliver diverse exhibitions and events at local businesses and venues across Hong Kong.

Participating photographers include United Social Press, an independent group of photographers whose collection The Turmoil captures the tension of the recent Hong Kong protests, and Raúl Hernández, a Hong Kong-based Spanish photographer whose collection Losing Farther, Losing Faster offers a peek into the lives of foreigners in Hong Kong.

The Festival will also present the first Hong Kong solo exhibition of Taiwanese exhibition designer Chen Mao-chang. Having designed a spectacular installation of works by Nakahira Takuma in the previous Festival, Chen returns this year with an audiovisual exhibition titled Hong Kong – his reflection on Hong Kong society in recent years.

N.B. Don’t forget to check the opening time of the various events as they may change due to the implementation of safety measures linked to the  Covid-19 outbreak.
