Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival 2018

Why We Recommend it
The Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival returns for their 19th edition with a varied programme of drama, comedy, thriller, musical and documentary films.
Description
Founded in 1999 with the aim to offer a window into the diversity of Jewish and Israeli life and culture, the Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival is the first ever of its kind in Asia.
The festival opens with Shelter, a thriller that centers on two women – a Mossad agent and a Lebanese informant – who form an unexpected bond during a mission. Other titles include The Last Suit, a sweet drama in which a Holocaust survivor, an 88-year old Jewish tailor, attempts to find the man who saved him from death decades ago to fulfil a promise he made decades ago; and The Cakemaker, an endearing story about a German baker who travels to Jerusalem to mourn the death of his secret lover – an Israeli married man.
Additionally, the festival will screen a series of short films by up-and-coming talents, mixing humorous, tragic, dramatic and satirical stories.
