Description

Merchant Hu Xueyan experienced ups and downs in his life, his fate closely tied to the ebb and flow of the fortunes of the final decades of the Qing dynasty.

Clairvoyant in observing trends and good at using people, Hu transformed himself from a penniless man to the nation’s top merchant powerful enough to rival the court.

Despite tumultuous times, he used his unique talents and financial resources to help Wang Youling and Zuo Zongtang to combat the Taiping rebels as well as Western powers.

This show is presented in Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles.

Hu Xueyan, my Dear is a winner of numerous awards at the Hong Kong Drama Awards and the 2017 Shanghai Jin an Modern Drama Valley One Drama Awards.

This year’s production features a revised script, a new cast with new design will be performed in front of Hong Kong audiences before embarking on a tour across Mainland China.
