In Search of Love: Dynamic Duos on Screen

Organised by the Hong Kong Film Archive, ‘In Search of Love’ presents thirteen Cantonese and Mandarin movies from the 1950s and 60s starring famous on-screen duos.
This season’s ‘Morning Matinee’ series, entitled ‘Dynamic Duos: In Search of Love’, will screen notable works starring six pairs of regular onscreen lovers, namely Pak Yin and Cheung Wood-yau, Patrick Tse Yin and Josephine Siao Fong-fong,Yam Kim-fai and Pak Suet-sin, Mak Bing-wing and Fung Wong Nui, Chin Feng and Chung Ching, and Lui Kay and Connie Chan Po-chu.
The versatile program will feature different genres, including dramas, Cantonese youth musicals, and Cantonese opera.
Some of the screenings will be accompanied by post-screening talks hosted by veteran film critic Po Fung.
The films will be shown at the HKFA Cinema at 11am on Fridays from April to June. In addition, 12 of the films will also be screened at the Auditorium of North District Town Hall from April to September.
Please note that except for The Window, which has Chinese and English subtitles, all other films will be screened without subtitles. Flower Princess and A Challenge of Love are in Mandarin, the other films are in Cantonese.
