International Archives Day 2018: A Glimpse Into Hong Kong History

This free event offers the opportunity for history buffs to explore Hong Kong’s fascinating past, as well as attend talks by archivists, academics and other professionals.
Description
Held at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, the International Archives Day is annual global event during which archivists and records professionals from a wide range of institutions will be on hand to answer questions. Exhibitors include M+, The Asia Art Archive, the LegCo Archive, The Museum of Medical Sciences, and the Government Records Service .
Over the course of the day, a series of panels in English and Cantonese exploring topics related to the theme ‘Archives: Governance, Memory and Heritage’ will be held. Talks include Ancient European Maps of China from the HKUST Special Collections, The Story of Archives and Hong Kong Observatory: 135 Years of Wind Chasing. The panels are free of admission and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties are asked to RSVP here.
