Sacred Creation: Jean Feldman’s MUSE and TOTEM

Why We Recommend it
For this French May Festival, Jean Feldman expresses the sacred aspect of creation through the female form, sculpture and cardboard figures.
Description
The Loft’s MUSE and TOTEM showcases illustrator and sculpture Jean Feldman’s works inspired by the female form, as well as some of his striking Totem sculptures. These figures, reminiscent of primitive art, invites viewers to ponder the connection between imagination and form, muses and artistic visions. Using a wide variety of mediums from cardboard and canvas to steel and rust, Feldman presents the sacredness and endless opportunities in creation through simple and abstract figures in fluid poses.
Feldman’s artworks and sculptures take inspiration from his experience in the advertising industry, which he entered just as it was transforming into the modern advertising industry we know today. Having left this industry behind after his retirement, he continues to express his creative spirit and artistic quest in other mediums. Feldman was art director of advertising group Publicis and later left to establish his own independent agency FCAI.
