Booker Prize-winning Author Jenny Erpenbeck in Conversation

Why We Recommend it

The International Booker-winning author talks about creativity and inspiration at an intimate fireside chat.

Description

International Booker Prize-winning author Jenny Erpenbeck is travelling to Hong Kong for two reasons. Kino/26, the city’s German-language film festival, will present screenings of Visitation, the acclaimed adaptation of her 2008 novel, by Oscar-winning filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff. Erpenbeck is expected to be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A on 27 September.

While in town, the Thomas Mann Prize-winning writer will also make a more intimate appearance, in a conversation moderated by Rinkoo Ramchandani, advisor to the Hong Kong International Literary Festival and an active member of Hong Kong’s writing community. Expect to hear first hand about the creation of works including The End of Days, Go, Went, Gone and, of course, the the 2024 Booker-winner, Kairos.

Registration opened at 18:15. Following the formal talk there will be an audience Q&A and book signing. This program is free of charge, but prior registration is required.
