Korean Art Showcased at PMQ

Why We Recommend it

Seven South Korean artists express their unique artistic visions through their respective media in an Art Basel follow-up exhibition at PMQ.

Description

Six Korean galleries will showcase the distinguished work of seven artists, previously presented at Art Basel, in a post-event exhibition at PMQ in Central. Each artist expresses their unique vision through a multifaceted mix of stop-motion video, installations, and traditional media.

Bae Yoonhwan addresses social issues through animated storytelling, using anthropomorphic animals to convey his artistic narrative. Choi Byungso’s work embodies the passage of time through the process of repetitive labour, while Nam Tchunmo explores unique spatial aesthetics through the interplay of lines and dimensions. Kim Jungwook employs radiating lights and linear forms to invite viewers into reflection. Lee Soyeun crafts self-portraits that capture memories and era-specific identities. Jo Jongsung reinterprets traditional Korean landscapes using multi-perspective techniques, and An Gyungsu reimagines Korean suburbs on his canvas.
