La Belle Époque Comes Alive at Novalis Art Design

Why We Recommend it
Franco Savadori, curator and art consultant, presents The Beauty of Belle Époque at Novalis Art Design, showcasing different 19th-century European art movements and the cult of female beauty.
Description
Franco Savadori is an experienced curator and owner of art consultancy company Classic Fine Art Hong Kong. As organiser and curator of The Beauty of Belle Époque show at Novalis Art Design, he has formed an eclectic overview of 19th-century European pictorial art movements – including Romanticism, Symbolism and the Belle Époque itself, amongst others.
During the historical period between 1874 and 1914, the Belle Époque witnessed a great artistic wave and flourishing of the cult of female beauty across Europe. In particular, this exhibition showcases a series of paintings such as Paul Grabwinkler’s “The Temptation of the Nun” (1920) and James Sant’s “The artist’s wife Elizabeth with their daughter Mary Edith” (circa 1852).
