LATE NIGHT SERIES – Art X: Immersive Theatre, Music and Workshops

Why We Recommend it

This November, the Hong Kong Arts Centre’s signature programme – “Late Night Series – Art X” will light up your soul with a wide range of artwork in an exhibition lasting past midnight.

Description

The Hong Kong Arts Centre’s signature programme “Late Night Series – Art X” offers exhibitions throughout the day, lasting into 1am. The programme features immersive theatre, interactive installations, house music, workshops, and even a snack & mocktail bar.

Works featured include Blue Moon, an experimental romantic film by director Ko I-Chen – a key figure of the Taiwan New Cinema, where the audience can choose their preferred cut in the screening, and two interactive installations “A pallet that cannot carry contradictions” and “Rusaban”, both of which allow you to have a crushing experience with your own fear.

Workshops offered include “Blown SugarArt: Blown Sugar Workshop” where participants are free to express their creativity by making blown sugar, a 600-year-old traditional craft safeguarded in the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and “Kinetic art: Papercutting workshop – when the traditional meets the contemporary” where participants will be exposed to a new form of traditional Chinese papercutting that uses modern acrylic sheets instead of traditional red paper.
