Leading Hong Kong Artist Samson Young’s Songs for Disaster Relief

Why We Recommend it
M+ will showcase a new Hong Kong edition of the acclaimed Songs for Disaster Relief exhibition conceived by the multidisciplinary artist Samson Young for the 57th Venice Biennale.
Description
Featuring sculptures, videos, sound installations and site-specific work – including newly commissioned artworks, the exhibition will offer a breathtaking audiovisual experience that re-examines the popularity of charity singles from the 1980s.
The show, marking the first stop of this ‘world tour’, will be accompanied by a series of live music performances running throughout the duration of the exhibition and will see a premiere of M+ Essential Editions. M+’s first-ever pop-up store will take the form of a dressing room belonging to Boomtown Gundane, a fictional character from the exhibition. This exhibition is curated by M+ Guest Curator Ying Kwok, with M+ Deputy Director and Chief Curator Doryun Chong as Consulting Curator.
