Now in its third year, Life is Art Film Festival returns with a programme consisting of films about the Art of music, fashion, photography, drawing, dancing, architecture, food, drama, and more.
The festival opens with Buena Vista Social Club: Adios (Cuba/USA, 2017), a continuation of the legendary story recorded in Wim Wender’s 1999 documentary Buena Vista Social Club, taking audiences on a journey to revisit Cuban Music.
David Hockney at The Royal Academy of Arts: A Bigger Picture 2012 & 82 Portraits and One Still Life 2016 will lead viewers on an artistic journey through the exhibitions of British Pop Art master David Hockney.
The closing film, Richard Linklater: Dream is Destiny (USA, 2016), chronicles the life and works of the acclaimed Boyhood and Before Trilogy director. Havana Divas (Hong Kong, 2017) narrates the life story of two stage sisters who learned the art of Cantonese opera in 1940s Havana.
