Paradise Untamed marks the debut solo exhibition in Hong Kong by Lindsey McAlister, unveiling a spirited body of paintings created in 2025. Drawing on more than forty years immersed in theatre, McAlister brings to canvas the rhythm, movement and expressive force of performance. Her compositions like “Blurred At The Edges” and “Divine Energy 000” pulse with energy, colour and emotion. Swirling brushstrokes and vivid palettes suggest dreamlike landscapes where botanical and animal forms drift in and out of abstraction.
A pioneering figure in Hong Kong’s performing arts scene, McAlister has spent decades directing, choreographing and nurturing generations of young artists through the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, which she founded in 1993. Honoured with an MBE, OBE and JP for her services to the arts, she now channels her lifelong creative energy into painting.
