Description

As a flagship event of Hong Kong Art March, the Live: Hong Kong Art Exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) brings together 19 established masters and rising stars to showcase the city’s diverse contemporary art scene.

The exhibition unfolds through four themes: Urban Stage, Landscape Reimagined, Virtual Reality and Transformation. A selection of recent works by the participating artists, including painting, ink art, ceramics, sculpture, video, installation and multimedia, offers a comprehensive showcase of the creativity and diversity within Hong Kong’s artistic landscape.

Beyond presenting artworks, the exhibition also highlights the creative process behind the artists’ works. For the first time, HKMoA introduces “Live: The Studio,” an open studio on the ground floor to invite participating artists to take up residencies. Through live creation, workshops, sharing sessions and other activities, the event offers a rare opportunity to step behind the scenes, engage directly with the artists and witness the entire creative process.

Additionally, the “Live: Inspiration” section displays miniature studios that reveal the inspirations and creative tools behind the artists’ works, accompanied by the video series Studio and Beyond, guided by the artists themselves.

The 19 participating artists include Chu Hing-wah, Angela Yuen, Inkgo Lam, Ross Yau, Hung Keung, Leung Mee-ping, Joseph Chan, Chan Wai-lap, Chan Kwan-lok, Jess Leung, Raymond Fung, Wong Hau-kwei, anothermountainman (Stanley Wong), Wong Chung-yu, Wong Chun-hei, Wong Lai-ching, Fiona, Hung Hoi, Hung Fai and Law Yuk-mui.
