All of Your Beeswax: The Edible Relics by Louis Danjou

Why We Recommend it
In a parallel universe, iconic landmarks like Victoria Harbour and Central’s glass towers are swallowed by a subtropical jungle. For one night only, this reclaimed, edible world made of beeswax is the starting point of Louis Danjou’s show.
Description
How many live art shows can you eat and savour visually? Go on, we’ll wait. The Edible Relics – Hong Kong isn’t Alice in Wonderland or from a Heston Blumenthal lab; it’s a beeswax city you can eat.
Set in a fictional 2087, when banyan roots fracture Victoria Harbour’s concrete and vines swallow Central’s glass towers, Current Plans‘ resident artist Louis Danjou (known as solo.chaud) builds a tactile, ephemeral world where every surface, vessel and architectural fragment is carved from beeswax — and designed to be consumed and destroyed by the end of the evening. Guests excavate the sculptures by hand, breaking wax to taste the edible relics trapped within: an act of archaeological consumption that turns dinner into a poetic ritual.
The menu, framed as “survival gastronomy,” blends wild foraging with French preservation techniques to reimagine what the last inhabitants of this concrete jungle might eat as nature reclaims the metropolis. As diners eat, the space is activated by live, improvisational soundscapes and projections from local collaborators — including a duo concert by composer and musician Annisa Cheung Ching-yu (nnscya) plus musician and multidisciplinary artist Gavin Yip Chun-kit in vegetal masks; a performance by polyvalent musician Adam Neutron (who plays instruments that resemble the guitar) and dystopian projections by visual artist Suze Chan. All supported by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau.
For one night only on 3 October, the experience starts at 19:00. Paid pre-registration required; limited capacity available.
