Lunar Fascinations: Wang Yuyang’s Coloured Moon

Why We Recommend it

Chinese artist Yuyang has created a series of large-scale canvas works that depict the moon with scientific scrutiny, drawing on its innate mysticism.

Description

One of the most renowned artists in mainland China, Yuyang’s practise encompasses sculpture, video, photography and painting, often exploring the boundaries between humans and technology alongside that of space and earth.

In this show, he explores the landscape of the moon, creating scientific replicas of its surface in psychedelic hues.

Yuyang will give a talk on his work on September 6th, at 11.30 at the gallery, alongside director Claudia Albertini.
