Media in Motion: A Group Show of Nam June Paik and Other Contemporary Artists

Why We Recommend it
Seven works by artists from China, Thailand, Korea, and Argentina are brought together to showcase the practical uses and creative potentials of new media in the digital age.
Description
Since the invention of the first motion-picture camera in the 19th century, there has been a sweeping emergence of new forms of electronic and interactive communications, including video, computers and the internet. Artists are no longer confined to long-standing historical mediums such as oil painting and ceramics, which enables them to document and portray the changing perceptions of time, space, and motion in unprecedented ways.
Centring on this progress as a theme, K11 Art Foundation’s second exhibition of their Kollectors Series features works across media by Korakrit Arunanondchai, Cheng Ran, Guan Xiao, Nam June Paik, Adrián Villar Rojas, and Zhang Ding.
Together, these artists shed light on the challenges that people face in the ever-changing landscape of information exchange and global trade.
