New art space Flowers Gallery presents its inaugural exhibition Spotlight on Michael Wolf, showcasing iconic works by the celebrated German photographer, who lived and worked in Hong Kong.
Known for his depiction of rainbow-hued apartment buildings in Hong Kong in his books Architecture of Density and Hong Kong, Wolf devoted his career to exploring the complexity of life in megacities, focusing on the dense urban environment of Hong Kong and the lives of the city’s ordinary inhabitants.
Works featured at Spotlight on Michael Wolf features including the renowned series Architecture of Density, works from Informal Solutions—a series that shows an intimate perspective of Hong Kong from its back alleys—and Cheung Chau Sunrises, Wolf’s last project before his death in 2019.
