Microwave International New Media Arts Festival 2018

Why We Recommend it
Through a series of artworks using artificial intelligence, data visualisation, 3D-printing and more, the 22nd edition of the Microwave International New Media Arts Festival explores how the concept of ‘trust’ has changed in a digitalised society.
Description
This year’s main exhibition showcases a series of immersive artworks, including Vvzela Kook’s Dual Metropolitans (2016 – 2018) an artwork based on a made-up story in which is revealed that Kowloon Walled City was never demolished but hidden underground; Olivier Ratsi’s Continuum (2018), a work that simulates immaterial three-dimensional spaces; and Brain Factory (2016) by Maurice Benayoun and Tobias Klein, which is a project that articulates the relationship between thought and matter, concept and object, humans and machine.
The festival also plays host to UNCONFERENCE, a series of artist symposiums, film screenings, workshops and outreach educational events on Blockchain technology.
