Why We Recommend it

This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival falls on 25 September, bringing the inaugural International Lantern Spectacular to Victoria Park alongside traditional celebrations and festive mall displays across the city.

Description

Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival is an occasion for families to gather, share mooncakes and enjoy the full moon together.

Falling on 25 September, this year’s festival sees the inaugural International Lantern Spectacular take place at Victoria Park. Running from 17 to 27 September, the event is organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. It lights up the park with giant, master-crafted lanterns from Nanjing and lantern displays from 20 countries.

Alongside the spectacular lantern displays, the city will also see the iconic dragon dance in Tai Hang, an 18-metre LED fire dragon at Lee Tung Avenue, as well as festive lantern displays across the city.
