Description
Based on Tove Jansson’s (Helsinki, 1914-2001) original Moomin books, Moomins and The Winter Wonderland (2017) is a heart-warming animated film created from vintage stop-motion footage. It is a sweet story about Moomin’s encounter with a guest new to Moomin Valley – Christmas, as he learns of the season’s true meaning.
Directed by auteur director Wes Anderson (b. 1969, Texas), Isle of Dogs, released just half a year ago, is set in the dystopian near-future when Megasaki City’s canine pets are disposed of like garbage to Trash Island. Twelve-year-old Atari sets off alone to look for his loyal friend and bodyguard dog Spots, and uncovers the political conspiracy behind the inhumane exile.
