MuchLoved: Mark Nixon Solo Exhibition at Over the Influence

Why We Recommend it

Over the Influence presents a selection of quirky, nostalgic portraits of “loved to bits” teddy bears by award-winning photographer Mark Nixon.

Description

Over the Influence presents MuchLoved, the first solo exhibition of Mark Nixon in Hong Kong. The exhibition features a selection of 14 photographs from Nixon’s Much Loved series, a trove of 65 quirky and nostalgic portraits of teddy bears that have been “loved to bits,” accompanied by their owners’ stories and memories.

Nixon’s work featured at this exhibition includes the famed teddy from the TV show Mr. Bean and a stuffed bear that belonged to a close friend of the musician Bono.

Born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the award-winning portrait photographer Mark Nixon first bought a camera in 1995 to try and relieve a severe case of writer’s block during his previous career as an aspiring singer and songwriter. What followed was an unexpected professional career in photography.
