Why We Recommend it

This festive concert will see one of the UK’s leading collegiate choirs, the Choir of Gonville & Caius College, perform Benjamin Bitten’s A Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28 and more.

Description

A Ceremony of Carols, a collection of music for upper voices and solo harp by English composer, conductor and pianist Benjamin Britten (1913 – 1976) is the centrepiece of this Christmas concert.

Performed by the Choir of Gonville & Caius College from Cambridge, traditional carols are heard alongside French Romantic favourites such as O Holy Night by Berlioz and Adam, and works by contemporary composers Carl Rütti, Bob Chilcott and John Rutter.
