Nederlands Dans Theater 1 comes to Hong Kong
Why We Recommend it
Acclaimed Dutch contemporary dance company Nederlands Dans Theater 1 (NDT1) will bring a versatile repertoire of four modern dance pieces to the Hong Kong stage.
Founded in 1959, Nederlands Dans Theater is an ambitious and idiosyncratic company that excels in their solo qualities and are renowned for their versatility, technique and virtuosic expression.
After almost a decade, they are returning to Hong Kong with a versatile repertoire that includes Shutters Shut, a remarkable four-minute-long piece in which the dancers visualise the words of Gertrude Stein’s enduring 1923 poem If I told him, and Safe as Houses, a performance inspired by the Chinese Book of Changes I Tjing and created to Bach’s scores.
