One Fine Day: Hongkongers’ Personal Tales of Happiness and Heartbreak

Why We Recommend it
19 non-professional performers share stories of their “one fine day” in this unique, experimental and powerful production.
Description
What comes to mind when we hear the words “one fine day”? Hong Kong residents share personal tales of happiness and heartbreak related to those three words in a collaboration with Beijing theatre company New Youth Group.
Provided with headphones, the audience is free to choose whether to listen to the story of a single narrator, to switch between channels to hear other tales, or to put down the headphones and listen to everyone on stage at the same time. Through the cacophony of sounds and voices, intensely intimate stories emerge, coming together in a confronting and heartfelt experience for both audiences and performers.
One Fine Day is performed as a part of the Hong Kong International Black Box Festival, a theatre festival curated and presented by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre and West Kowloon Cultural District.
Please note that the show is presented mainly in Cantonese without subtitles.
