Chinese Medicine Shop Inspires Local Artist’s Show at Para Site

Description

Hong Kong artist So Wing-po’s Take Turns at Para Site reimagines salvaged Chinese medicine drawers as transformative vessels, exploring the interplay between nature, the body and materiality. Drawing from her upbringing in a traditional Chinese medicine shop, So reimagines them as sites of transformative healing and creates an immersive installation featuring Chinese herbs, rocks, kinetic sculptures and more. Curated by Li Yuanyu, the exhibition reflects on the material change with aspects such as preservation, decay and regeneration.
