Into the Ethereal: Painter Emma Webster’s Hong Kong Debut

Description

Painter Emma Webster’s inaugural exhibition in Hong Kong, Vapors, showcases ethereal landscapes that blend reality and fantasy. Painted during the Los Angeles fires in January 2025, these works evoke an unsettling calm, capturing both calamity and aftermath.

Webster’s creative process combines physical sculptures with VR technology, challenging perceptions of reality. Her paintings capture the ephemeral nature of vapour, reflecting both environmental change and emotional states. With misty greys and glazed brushstrokes, Webster invites viewers to ponder the boundaries between the real and the fantastical.
