Why We Recommend it

Michael Kenna’s Japan / A Love Story exhibition reveals poetic black-and-white images taken over nearly 40 years, offering a meditative glimpse into Japan’s timeless beauty.

Description

Michael Kenna, one of the world’s leading landscape photographers, arrives in Hong Kong for the largest display of his exhibition to date, entitled Japan / A Love Story. Featuring over 100 original silver gelatin prints handcrafted by Kenna himself, this collection of works reflect nearly 40 years of his deep connection with Japan’s landscapes, culture and spiritual traditions. Known for his minimalist black-and-white compositions, long exposures and traditional darkroom printing, Kenna captures Japan’s serene and contemplative essence, inviting viewers to pause and reflect amid today’s fast-paced world.

Curated by Peter Fetterman Gallery and co-presented by Nikkei and the Financial Times, the exhibition has also toured Tokyo, Los Angeles and London. There will also be an exclusive book signing event, making this a must-see celebration of the eminent photographer.
