Photographer Chan Dick Takes Us On A Mesmerising Journey Through Our Body
Why We Recommend it
Following the success of his Chai Wan Fire Station series, Hong Kong photographer Chan Dick returns with a new project in which he explores beauty and the wonder of life.
Local photographer Chan Dick is internationally renowned for his quiet, minimalist and geometric Chai Wan Fire Station photography series, which offers a glimpse into the the daily life of Hong Kong firefighters.
Equally minimalist yet of a completely different subject matter is his latest body of work, which will be on show at Novalis Contemporary Art Gallery. Entitled The Trek, the series consists of sophisticated black-and-white close-ups of of various parts of the human body, such as bones, muscle tissues and membranes, which curiously resemble flowers, trees, mountains and valleys.
Through this series, Chan hopes to lead viewers on a journey to rediscover their body with a dose of imagination.
