Photography Exhibition: In the Heart of the Great Miao Mountains

Why We Recommend it
This exhibition, organised by the NGO Couleurs de Chine, offers a window into the life of the Miao people in the remote mountains of the Guangxi province through evocative documentary photos.
Description
This show is organised to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Couleurs de Chine, a non-profit organisation dedicated to help the literacy of under-privileged girls of the Miao, an ethnic minority group belonging to South China. Since its inception in 1998, the NGO has been able to provide an education for more than 12,000 children.
Entitled In the Heart of the Great Miao Mountains, the exhibition features photos, taken by both professional and amateur photographers, that show the day-to-day life of the Miao people and their environment. Additionally, the event plays host to three workshops and conferences on Chinese culture; “Introduction to Feng Shui”, “Can China make the planet green again?”, and “Savoir être et savoir vivre en Chine”.
All photos at the exhibition will be up for sale, with the proceeds going to the Couleurs de Chine.
