Poly*Technic: Club Night, or Experimental Audiovisual Lab?

Why We Recommend it
Poly*Technic is a cross-disciplinary nightlife experiment where sound, visuals and space continuously reshape each other — or so say hosts Clockenflap, anyway.
Description
Hong Kong’s beloved festival/promoter Clockenflap launches Poly*Technic, a new event series that reimagines nightlife as an open-ended, evolving experiment. Debuting at 宀 Club, the series rejects fixed formats in favour of unpredictability, where no two editions unfold the same way. Positioned as a live laboratory, the experimental clubbing concept unites artists working across sound, visuals and technology to create a responsive environment shaped in real time. Central to this is Hoshi Blox’s modular LED system, which transforms the venue into a kinetic landscape that reacts to shifts in music and movement.
The inaugural lineup reflects this ethos: electronic music producer Mael’s industrial live set known for industrial and dystopian soundscapes, DJ Yong Yee’s playful and nostalgic selections, DJ Buttercup’s ambient textures that blend genres like deep house and techno, as well as visual artist Yuwen’s real-time synthesis. Together, they form a feedback loop between performer, space and audience. Rather than a conventional party, Poly*Technic proposes a space for improvisation, where atmosphere, structure and experience remain in constant flux.
