Having recently graduated from their respective art degrees, artists Wu Jiaru and Chan Ka Kiu present works exploring emotions and themes around influenza.
Description
The show takes influenza and virus as metaphors, drawing on the artists’ own experiences to construct modern fable that meditate on threat in daily life.
Artist Wu Jiaru received her MFA degree from the School of Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong in 2017; whilst Artist Chan Ka Kiu received her BA in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the same year.
The two artists both participated in the art project and group exhibition The Best Is Yet To Come at K11 Chi Art Space, Hong Kong (2017) and Happily Ever After at Blindspot Gallery (2017), their artistic styles are different from each other yet share similarity in sense of humour and allegory.
