Pride Month Celebrations at Eaton HK

Description

Pride Month in Hong Kong finds fresh expression at Eaton HK, where Reorient to the Future unfolds across June and July. This year’s programming features a wide range of events inspired by José Esteban Muñoz’s vision of Queer Futurity and timed with LGBTQ+ Pride Month, Disability Pride Month and World Refugee Day.

Highlights include Soft Crash: Fashion, Gender, and the Queer Gaze, an exhibition reclaiming fashion photography as resistance and centring queer, trans, and non-binary bodies; Prosthesis: Queer Crip Performance & Archive Exhibition, where artists Ximan Wang and Yeung Siu Fong challenge ableist and heteronormative norms through performance and archival work; and Dance as a Community Superpower, a Refugee Week event celebrating inclusion and the unifying power of dance. Through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and discussions, the programme spotlights the creativity and agency of refugees, disabled changemakers, queer and trans communities, and diverse ethnic creatives, fostering belonging and radical hope.
