Artist Residency and Exhibition: Prosper Legault’s Neon Works

Why We Recommend it

Artist Prosper Legault transforms Hong Kong’s visual fragments into neon sculptural poetry during his residency at Current Plans.

Description

From 7 to 14 February, artist Prosper Legault unveils a new body of work created during his residency at Current Plans, shaped by his encounters with Hong Kong’s vivid streets and hidden corners. From neon-lit markets to quiet beaches, Legault gathers visual fragments of the city — such as shops signs and found objects — and reassembles them into neon sculptures that pulse with unexpected meaning. His work blurs the line between everyday reality and art, recasting urban elements as luminous, poetic relics of the city.

Supported by the Artists’ Foundation, Friends of the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, the exhibition invites viewers to see Hong Kong anew, through the eyes of an artist attuned to its visual language.

The opening presentation will take place on 7 February, from 14:00 to 20:00.
