Why We Recommend it

Presented by Opera Hong Kong, young local talents will perform Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, two contrasting operas from Puccini’s trilogy (Il Trittico) of one-act operas.
Suor Angelica tells the story of a young woman whose illegitimate pregnancy results in her being shut away in a convent and her child taken away from her by her family.
Gianni Schicchi is a comic opera about a sanctimonious and greedy family hoping to inherit an aristocrat’s large inheritance. It features O mio babbino caro, one of Puccini’s best known aria’s.
