What Fools These Mortals Be: Youth Theatre Reimagines Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

One of William Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, A Midsummer’s Night Dream is a tale of love, intrigue, and magic.

The play centres on fantastical events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens to the former queen of the Amazons. This includes the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors who are manipulated and controlled by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set.

This endearing reimagination, aimed at both children and adults, will be scored with jazz and performed by actors aged 8 to 18 from local theatre group Faust International Youth Theatre.
