Remains of the Day: Mona Hatoum’s First Solo Show in Hong Kong
Why We Recommend it
Hatoum, a Palestinian artist now living in London, explores themes of home and displacement in her works that span the gamut of video, installation and sculpture.
Hatoum’s first solo show in Hong Kong features sculpture, works on paper and large-scale installation including Remains of the Day (2016 − 18), a continuation of work made for the 10th Hiroshima Art Prize exhibition.
Through her career, Hatoum has explored themes of home and displacement through the perspective of the Palestinian exile, using common domestic objects that often, on closer inspection, reveal threatening qualities.
