Salon on Hollywood Gathers Collectors from HK and Beyond

Why We Recommend it

A four-day boutique art fair brings together seasoned collectors and captivating galleries from Hong Kong and beyond, bridging the practice of antique collection with contemporary explorations of heritage.

Description

Liang Yi Museum, a private institute specialising in collecting Chinese antiques, is hosting the third year of Salon on Hollywood from 24 to 28 April. Founded by Bonnie Lau, a third-generation Chinese furniture specialist, the boutique fair brings together seasoned collectors and captivating local and international galleries, seeking to bridge the practice of antique collection with contemporary explorations of heritage.

Notable participants from abroad include veteran collector Susan Ollemans and MD Flacks, a gallery specialising in Ming and early Qing Chinese furniture. Five Hong Kong galleries working on Chinese antiquities will also be bringing their decades of expertise to the dialogue. Two galleries participating — Yumekoubou and Whitestone — have their origins in Japan. While the former exhibits both antique and contemporary art, Whitestone is mostly focused on Japanese art since the post-war period, bringing art and heritage from different periods into conversation.

Admission to the salon is free, with RSVP required.
