Screening naturalist and explorer Henry Bates’ Rainforest adventures

Why We Recommend it

This omnimax show tells the story of English naturalist and explorer Henry Bates, who embarked on an eleven-year journey through the stunning yet perilous Amazon rainforest.

Amazon Adventure is a family-friendly live action film chronicling the discoveries made by Henry Bates (1825 – 1892) and Alfred Wallace (1823 – 1913) in the Amazon rainforest. They are respectively known for the discovery of mimicry and camouflage in animals, and conceiving the theory of evolution through natural selection.

The 45-minute-long film shows young audiences how Bates identifies new species and discovers how animals take on the look of other species or objects, gaining an advantage in the competitive world of survival.
