Description
Amar Kanwar’s film Such a Morning of Amar Kanwar follows a mathematics professor who retreats into an abandoned train carriage to explore his sensorial and hallucinatory experiences. The film meditates on the blurred boundaries of night and day, voice and silence, fear and freedom, democracy and fascism.
Kanwar is known for films and multimedia works that examine the politics of power, violence, and justice. His multi-layered installations often draw on narratives from zones of conflict and are marked by a poetic approach to personal, social, and political themes.
The screening will be followed by a conversation in English with Kanwar and Chanel Kong, M+ Curator of Moving Image.
