Why We Recommend it

Description
Directed by Laurence Brahm, National Geographic explorer and award-winning filmmaker of the expedition series Searching for Shangri-la, the film Searching for the Lotus Born Master: Eight Manifestations of Quantum Energy will screen at Asia Society. The film follows an expedition tracing the legendary eighth century Tibetan Buddhist figure Padmasambhava, also known as the Lotus-Born Master.
The film is part travelogue and part meditation on the marriage of Tibetan Buddhism’s spiritual wisdom and cutting-edge science. It explores the quantum manifestations of Padmasambhava, featuring the Shambhala Studio team travelling to Himalayan regions, monasteries and sacred sites to discover the answer. The journey covers over 20,000 kilometres through extreme Himalayan terrains, featuring interviews with lamas, scholars and scientists to illuminate the intersection of Vajrayana Buddhism and quantum physics.
Alongside the film, the evening will also feature a pre-screening book signing with Brahm, as well as a panel dialogue between the filmmaker and Thomas Hon Wing Polin, director of online magazine Buddhist Door and translator of related texts.
The event starts with a book signing at 18:15 on 4 July, followed by the film screening at 18:50 and a post-screening talk and Q&A at 20:10.
