Step into Shintaro Inoue’s World of Rhythmic Lines

With vivid colours and rhythmic lines, NO BORDER LINE in Hong Kong showcases some of Shintaro Inoue’s newest paintings. Working with dynamic strokes and empty space, Inoue composes portraits of women glowing and full of life, almost reaching out of the canvas, flowing through air.

Born in Niigata Prefecture, Inoue was profoundly influenced by his mother, Makiko Inoue, a calligraphy master. Though he did not inherit her technical precision, she nurtured his creative spirit, inspiring him to channel calligraphy through colorful lines that express a deep dialogue between tradition and contemporary art.

Presented by Touch Gallery, NO BORDER LINE in Hong Kong is the painter’s first solo exhibition outside of Japan.
