Stay Connected, Part 1: China’s Art and Transformation Since 2008

Why We Recommend it
Tai Kwun’s Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 highlights two chapters tracing China’s social shifts and innovative art practices from 2008, framed by digital technology and global manufacturing.
Description
Tai Kwun’s Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 features two interlinked chapters framed by digital technology and global manufacturing. The first, Navigating the Cloud (now until 4 January 2026), showcases over 50 works by more than 35 artists, including Li Shuang and Li Yifan, exploring how internet hyperconnectivity reshapes society and art. The second, Supplying the Globe (from 27 February to 31 May 2026), examines the physical infrastructures and relationships connecting the world through manufacturing. Together, they explore socio-cultural shifts in 21st-century China and beyond.
Curated by Tai Kwun’s head of art Pi Li and senior curator Ying Kwok, their curatorial vision connects the digital and physical realms, guiding audiences to explore boundaries and connections shaping art and society today. Alongside both shows, they will be complemented by a range of activities including talks, screenings, programmes and a companion publication co-produced alongside Asia Art Archive.
